Healthcare Quality Improvement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Patient Safety Officer to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. As a Patient Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient safety and quality care.
Responsibilities
- Safety Event Reporting: Develop and implement effective safety event reporting processes to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analyses to identify the underlying causes of adverse events and develop corrective action plans.
- Culture of Safety Survey: Coordinate the annual culture of safety survey and analyze the results to identify areas for improvement.
- National Patient Safety Goals: Track and trend data to ensure compliance with National Patient Safety goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Patient Safety Meetings: Facilitate regular patient safety meetings to discuss reported incidents, trends, and action plans.
- Patient Safety Rounding: Participate in executive leadership rounds to identify and address patient safety concerns.
- Patient Safety Education: Provide education and training to staff on patient safety best practices and procedures.
- Patient Safety Projects: Develop and implement patient safety projects to improve patient outcomes and reduce risk.
Requirements
- Certification in Safety or Quality (e.g. CPPS) preferred.
- Proficiency in EPIC, specifically with data mining and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and two (2) years of clinical and/or administrative experience in coordinating and monitoring initiatives, activities, and programs related to patient safety, quality improvement, and related area(s), analyzing, managing, and reporting patient safety data and performing other functions related to patient safety in a hospital or healthcare setting;
Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 per year
