About the Role:

The Peer Specialist will work closely with clients to provide support, guidance, and resources to aid in their recovery journey. This includes:

  • Sharing personal experiences and modeling successful recovery behaviors
  • Linking clients with support groups and community resources
  • Developing and modifying individual client treatment plans
  • Participating in mutual support and education groups
  • Providing transportation and outreach services
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A valid automobile driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Life experiences with mental illness/substance use disorders and received services
  • Successful completion of the Peer Specialist training through the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB) and certification
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills
