Job Summary

As a Field Engineer at American Engineering Testing Inc, you will provide critical support to the Construction Services Division by assisting engineers and technicians with various tasks. Your responsibilities will include conducting geotechnical field testing, performing special inspection services, and assisting in training less experienced personnel. You will also be responsible for preparing reports of field and laboratory work, communicating with clients, and maintaining a high level of productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical field testing and special inspection services as needed.
  • Assist in training less experienced personnel in routine field work and documentation.
  • Prepare reports of field and laboratory work, including detailed site visit reports.
  • Communicate with clients to determine their project needs and provide technical support.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency in completing tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science-related field.
  • Internship or previous work experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering or scientific principles within specialty area.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE).
  • Experience using personal computer software, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work at environmental remediation, industrial, and construction sites, and perform field work including collecting samples, operating field instruments, and documenting field activities.
Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a field environment in outdoor conditions, on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. The employee will also work in an office environment and use standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds.
