Job Overview

Position Summary

The Industrial Painter is tasked with the preparation, priming, and application of finishing coats on pipes and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be expanded to include additional tasks as deemed necessary by management.

  • The Industrial Painter collaborates with and reports to the Lead Painter for work assignments.
  • Adheres to specific product guidelines for the preparation and application of primers and finishing coats.
  • Maintains all assigned painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Identifies and organizes fabricated components for painting preparation.
  • Inspects components for defects and communicates any issues to the Lead Painter.
  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to transport items, or requests assistance from material handlers as needed.
  • Ensures cleanliness of inventory, staging areas, and machinery.
  • Understands and follows workplace safety protocols.

  • Ability to lift heavy materials as required

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this role, the employee will frequently stand or walk, occasionally engage in verbal communication, and move about the work area. Frequent use of hands for handling or touching is required. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The characteristics of the work environment for this position are in an industrial setting where adherence to safety policies is mandatory. The employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
