About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer - Database Administrator to join our team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS). As a key member of our software team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and administering complex databases using tools such as SQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database schema architectures, including coding and design of stored procedures, foreign keys, table relationships, etc.
  • Develop and maintain smooth operation of databases, including performance tuning of indexes and databases.
  • Review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery, and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
  • Collaborate with other highly motivated system/network administrators, software developers, and mission planners to achieve team goals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of relative experience; OR Master's Degree with 7+ years of relative experience or in lieu of a degree, an additional 4+ years of experience is required.
  • Proficiency in systems and database management, including experience with database languages such as SQL or similar database languages to SQL.
  • Familiarity with database management best practices and experience implementing database schema architectures.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills in a teamwork environment.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
