Avionics Systems Specialist

HX5 is a leading provider of engineering, research, and development services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. As a seasoned Avionics Systems Specialist, you will be part of a fast-growing, veteran-owned company with a strong presence nationwide.

This role supports the Mobility Directorate, responsible for Transport, Tanker, and Training aircraft. You will demonstrate expertise in controls and displays, data bus, and data recording development, test, sustainment, and operations. Your knowledge will cover airborne vehicles' controls and displays subsystems, ensuring performance, integrity, and compliance with FAA and DoD airworthiness/certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical documents to ensure compliance with specifications and airworthiness requirements.
  • Summarize findings, recommend changes, and communicate results to program offices.
  • Support technical interchange meetings on updates and upgrades in controls and displays, data buses, and data recording equipment.
  • Apply knowledge in reviewing associated equipment airworthiness reports, adhering to AFPD 62-6 USAF Airworthiness requirements.
  • Meet the requirement of 5 years of DoD experience in the technical profession.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program and 15 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program and 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency.
  • Ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation and obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Willingness to travel, including air travel.
