Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the HydroVac unit is operational without safety concerns or defects, and report any issues immediately.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document all travel, onsite, and other miscellaneous time on designated forms and applications.
  • Truck Evaluation and Maintenance: Perform complete truck evaluations at the beginning of each shift and document on designated forms and applications.
  • Sewer Cleaning and Debris Removal: Perform sewer cleaning and debris removal tasks as required.
  • Hydroexcavation and Excavation: Perform hydroexcavation and excavation tasks as required.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist mainline and other camera trucks with equipment or scope of work as requested.
  • GIS Documentation: Utilize GIS to document production and site conditions.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping: Perform periodic maintenance as described on equipment, including but not limited to grease and lubricants, turning of valves, and winterizing.
  • Storage and Organization: Ensure all storage areas and truck compartments are clean and organized.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure all related hoses and attachments are neatly coiled or stowed between uses.
Requirements
  • Safe Driving Record: Possess a safe driving record.
  • Education and Experience: High school degree preferred, with 2+ years of HydroVac operations experience.
  • CDL and Tanker Endorsement: Possession of a proper class of CDL and tanker endorsement preferred, with willingness to obtain if not already held.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing, and quality of outcomes.
  • Language and Communication: Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Commitment to Core Values: Commitment to Pipe View, LLC's Core Values, Mission Statement, and programs is required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that requires a range of safety and other precautions. This work involves physical exertion such as lifting, carrying, or pushing heavy objects over 70 pounds. HydroVac is a single-person crew on a truck for the majority of the time. Must be able to wear hard hat/helmet, safety glasses, goggles, safety shoes/boots, hearing protectors, safety vest, and gloves. Exposure to extreme temperatures, animals/insects, electrical hazards, high-pressure water/air, confined spaces, heights, noise, dust, irritants, and moving mechanical parts.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work fall Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended hours may be required based on the business need.

Travel

Some travel may be required based on contracts obtained.
