Correctional Facility Physical Therapist I

Position Overview
The Physical Therapist I, Correctional Facility is responsible for delivering physical therapy services under the guidance of the Chief Medical Executive and the administrative oversight of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator. This role involves administering various therapeutic treatments, including active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapies to patients within a correctional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy interventions and explain their significance to patients.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as departmental policies regarding the physical therapy program.
- Maintain order and supervise inmate conduct while ensuring the safety of individuals and property.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess the legal qualifications for practicing physical therapy in California as determined by the California Medical Board. Eligibility for the Physical Therapist I, Correctional Facility position requires passing the relevant examination prior to application.
Additional Information
This position may involve working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Applicants must be prepared to undergo a background investigation and medical clearance prior to employment. A valid California Physical Therapy license is also required.
