Job Summary

MITRE is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Expeditionary Department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure services, including Base Area Network (BAN)/Local Area Network (LAN), Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Voice Transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technology roadmaps aligned with DoD policy for implementing secure network infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of Installation (Base/Post/Station) Network Infrastructure
  • Understand current and future technologies to modernize network infrastructure and IT services
  • Use data and analytics to understand usages and trends on storage and backup infrastructure
  • Assist the development and implementation of best practices, compliance standards, and security controls for on-prem and cloud infrastructure
  • Participate in an environment that emphasizes trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
Requirements
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of data infrastructure technology experience or related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Experience designing, deploying, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network architectures
  • Active Secret Clearance, ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Experience with data lifecycle including data architectures, data storage, system integrations, system maintenance, system migrations, data transfers, and data archival
  • Experience engineering security boundaries, WAN architecture, LAN architecture, network monitoring plans, and solutions for public key enablement
  • Experience delivering highly available and scalable solutions
  • Ability to lead and participate in the research and evaluation of new technologies, hardware, software, services, and implementation processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a technical discipline (e.g., information systems, systems engineering, computer science, information technology)
  • 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's or 6 years and a Master's degree
  • A current/active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Knowledge of Navy, Marine Corps, Joint, and Interagency domains
  • Cloud storage and archival services including AWS, Azure Files, and GCP
  • Infrastructure automation and configuration management framework and scripting languages including Ansible, Chef, Python, Ruby, Terraform, PowerShell, etc.
