At AvaMed Workforce, we are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist to join our team in a Full-Time assignment at a correctional facility in Stockton, CA.
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to provide mental health services to inmates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience working with diverse populations.
Responsibilities:- Consult with supervisors and treatment team members to develop and implement treatment plans for inmates.
- Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
- Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
- Apply community standard of practices for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
- Perform mental status exams and conduct face-to-face clinical interviews.
- Examine prior mental health records and develop treatment plans for inmates.
- Conduct mental health education and develop resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
- Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits and community programs.
- Facilitate patient transitions between settings within the institution.
- Perform pre-release functions and provide patient education.
- Participate in IDTT meetings and compile data from audits.
- Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR staff.
- Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caretakers.
- Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters.
- Maintain safety and security of property and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility.
- Must have a Psychologist license by the California State Board of Psychology.
- Experience working with diverse populations and in correctional settings.
- Strong background in clinical psychology and mental health services.
