Project Overview

The GTA CJEP initiative aims to modernize the Criminal Justice Exchange Program, facilitating data sharing among various agencies, counties, and cities. This project will transition the existing SoftwareAG-centric solution to a Cloud Native architecture on AWS, enabling the consolidation and movement of data for participating counties.

Position Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS utilizing services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Serverless Architecture: Implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda functions with Python.
  • Workflow Management: Build and orchestrate workflows with AWS Step Functions and State Machines.
  • Web Services: Design and implement SOAP-based web services using relevant technologies.
  • Security Measures: Manage custom headers for web services to ensure security, authentication, and data integrity.
  • Data Transmission: Implement MTOM attachments for efficient binary data transmission in web services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and team members to refine user stories and deliver iterative solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability through automated testing and code reviews.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with AWS services, tools, and best practices, sharing knowledge within the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, and related technologies.
  • Strong background as a software developer with a solid understanding of cloud computing principles.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications on AWS cloud services, particularly Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Proficiency in Python; familiarity with additional programming languages is advantageous.
  • Experience with AWS Step Functions and State Machines is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and the SCRUM framework.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer) are advantageous.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
