Overview:

Highland Hospital, a prominent community teaching facility affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center, is seeking skilled Patient Registration Specialists to support our Family Maternity Center.

The Family Maternity Center is equipped with 10 labor beds, 30 post-partum beds, and a specialized care nursery, catering to higher-risk situations while delivering exceptional care to a significant number of newborns annually.


Work Schedule:

Qualified candidates must be available for full-time shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, on a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, and every other weekend, as well as 50% of holidays.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming and assisting patients upon arrival.
  • Conducting patient registration and preparing medical charts.
  • Tracking patient progress and supporting nursing and technical staff.

Compensation:

Qualifications:
  1. A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's degree is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience is essential, with prior experience in a medical office or healthcare environment being advantageous.
  3. No specific licenses or certifications are required.

Skills:

Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred. Candidates should be proficient in using computer systems, managing multiple phone lines, operating fax and copier machines, and engaging positively with customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to multi-task and follow instructions, are essential for providing outstanding customer service.


Employment Status: Full-Time
Work Hours: 20-40 hours per week
