Medical Care Associate

Regional Medical Center of Memphis is seeking a skilled Medical Care Associate to join our team. As a Medical Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients, families, and healthcare teams.
About the Role
In this critical role, you will assist with various aspects of patient care under general supervision, working closely with professional nurses and other healthcare staff. Your duties will include taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for diagnostic examinations and treatments, performing basic lab procedures, and assisting with medical procedures and treatments as needed.
You will also provide one-on-one care to patients requiring close observation and monitoring, ensuring their safety and prevention of injury. Additionally, you will obtain medical and lab records, complete necessary documentation in patient medical records, communicate unit activities and needs to appropriate staff, and follow up with patients and families as required.
Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking and recording patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
- Preparing patients for diagnostic examinations and treatments.
- Performing basic lab procedures, such as collecting and forwarding specimens.
- Assisting with medical procedures and treatments, including comforting patients, handing instruments and supplies to physicians, wound care, injections, applying bandages and hot/cold packs, etc.
- Observing and reporting patient responses to interventions/treatments.
- Completing all documentation requirements in a timely manner.
- Providing one-on-one care to patients requiring close observation and monitoring.
- Obtaining medical and lab records.
- Communicating unit activities and needs to appropriate staff.
- FOLLOWING UP WITH PATIENTS AND FAMILIES AS REQUIRED.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant or medical assistant program.
- Qualified by education, training, or experience to work with infant, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patients, as specialty assignment dictates.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Current Nurse Aide Certification in the State of Tennessee within 60 days.
- At least 1 year experience of nursing assistant experience (preferred).
Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $55,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience. We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to ensure that our employees are well supported and valued.
