About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at GenCare Solutions. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in promoting and restoring patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for patients with pediatric experience, including the development of social skills and daily living skills.
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including oral hygiene, bathing, and hair care as needed, nail care, diapering, and dressing.
  • Provide bed care to patients, repositioning, ambulating, and assisting with elimination needs, including moving to and from wheelchairs.
  • Administer medications to patients orally, intra-, or via feeding tube subcutaneously, and monitor the effects of medications and record patient reactions.
  • Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients in the pediatric care setting.
  • Assist in reviewing the Medication Administration Record (MAR) monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy.
Treatments and Procedures

To ensure that patients receive the best quality of care, we require experience in the following conditions:

  • Experience in a pediatric care setting, preferably with medically complex patients.
  • Valid RN certification issued by the Florida Board of Nursing.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Ability to pass a Level II background check.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
  • Prompt documentation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care.

We also require experience with the following conditions:

  • Tube feeding.
  • Tracheostomy.
  • Wound care.
  • Neurological disorders, including seizures.
  • Oxygen dependence.
  • IV therapy.

Experience with the following conditions is highly desired:

  • Premature birth, post-discharge care.
  • Chronic lung disease care.
  • Feeding - suck/swallow.
  • Insulin-dependent diabetes.
  • Failure to thrive - poor weight gain.
  • Immune deficiencies.
  • Renal failure.
  • Spina Bifida.
  • Pre/post organ transplant care.
  • Genetic disorders.
  • Rare disorders.
  • Postsurgical long/short-term care.
  • Colostomy/ileostomy care.
