Nurse Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Supervisor House Registered Nurse PT Nights. This role will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and participating in the delivery of nursing care for all patient care units following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure efficient administration of nursing services and quality of care.
- Coordinate, with other health team members, patient placement and delivery of patient care with final decision making responsibility.
- Identify and evaluate bed availability in patient care departments by super census review and continuous rounding.
- Communicate and coordinate with the managers, coordinators, contact nurses to insure that all shifts have standardized admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Initiate new concepts, approaches, and procedures in the placement of patients to facilitate their admission process.
- Conduct rounds on patients and families waiting for beds in ER and PACU and communicate bed placement plan.
- Coordinate and facilitate morning report to Patient Care Services Manager of Nursing Support or UR/Patient Placement Coordinator.
- Initiate continuous communication with Scheduling Office staff.
- Communicate with ER and PACU frequently to prevent a back up of admissions and to put into place process that might stop a backlog.
- Participate in the evaluation of the metrics and communicate the information to the appropriate people.
- Act as a resource person and provide support and direction to patient care units. Participate in delivery of patient care.
- Provide input into personnel issues including hiring, disciplining, appraising, and terminating employees.
- Seek to improve quality of service by continuously developing individual competencies within scope of practice.
- Serve as administrative representative in the absence of administration.
- Coordinate weekend staffing for units.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Three years of professional nursing experience providing broad clinical exposure.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
