We are seeking a skilled and experienced Nurse Supervisor to join our team at McLaren Health Care. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient administration of nursing services.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and participate in the delivery of nursing care for all patient care units, adhering to hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, and standards of care.
- Coordinate the placement of elective and emergent admissions and transfers, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure efficient bed management and identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance patient flow and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, managers, and coordinators to ensure standardized admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Develop and implement new concepts and approaches to enhance patient placement and admission processes.
- Conduct regular rounds on patients and families waiting for beds, providing updates and communicating bed placement plans.
- Facilitate morning report to Patient Care Services Manager or UR/Patient Placement Coordinator, ensuring timely communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate with Scheduling Office staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Participate in the evaluation of metrics and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a resource person and provide support and direction to patient care units, participating in the delivery of patient care.
- Provide input into personnel issues, including hiring, disciplining, appraising, and terminating employees.
- Seek opportunities to improve quality of service by developing individual competencies within scope of practice.
- Represent the administration in their absence, ensuring continuity of care and services.
- Coordinate weekend staffing for units, ensuring adequate coverage and patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Three years of professional nursing experience providing broad clinical exposure.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
- ACLS certification.
- Supervisory experience.
