We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team at Henry Ford Health System. This is a full-time day position with no weekends or call, working primarily at our Detroit area locations.

Job Summary:

This role will support two physicians who maintain busy practices, providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. As a first assist in the operating room and having their own independent clinic, the selected candidate will decompress physician clinics, increase patient access, and provide coverage during physician absence or sports coverage.

About the Role:
  • Work Environment: Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Responsibilities: Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider to patients and their families.
  • Clinical Duties: Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care, taking patient history, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses, and instituting appropriate treatment programs.
  • Collaboration: Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program- OR- Master's degree in nursing.
  • Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)- OR- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
