POSITION OVERVIEW

As a key member of the management team, the Assistant Director of Operations collaborates closely with the general manager at a facility managing significant financial volume to strategize, organize, direct, and oversee a specific operational area or cost center. This role encompasses responsibilities such as budget adherence, sanitation, safety compliance, health regulation observance, food preparation, service delivery, and staff training and development, while following established protocols and systems. The Assistant Director of Operations engages with staff, customers, guests, and various departmental personnel. This individual provides coaching to direct reports and ensures that team members perform effectively in their roles to meet departmental objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Client, Customer, and Guest Engagement:
    • Exhibits a strong commitment to client, customer, and guest satisfaction, actively seeking feedback.
    • Mentors team members on the significance of customer satisfaction.
    • Builds positive relationships with other departments within the organization.

  • Financial Performance:
    • Utilizes company systems to monitor compliance with financial standards and reports discrepancies.
    • May track sales to ensure targets are achieved and seeks innovative methods to boost revenue.
    • Reviews weekly financial accountability and communicates variances to the general manager.
    • Ensures adherence to budgetary guidelines within the area of responsibility.
    • Monitors waste, overproduction, and quality benchmarks.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of eight years of professional experience, with at least six years in food service management.
  • A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Thorough understanding of food service operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead other managers or supervisors.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic mathematical and financial management skills are required.
