Medical Office Coordinator

As a Medical Office Coordinator at FirstHealth of the Carolinas, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the scheduling of appointments, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. You will also be responsible for checking patients in and out, using accurate and appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes, and registering patients. Additionally, you will prepare charts, post charges and payments, collect co-payments, and maintain current databases of patient demographics and billing information. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in verifying insurance eligibility and processing patient referrals for tests and referrals to specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage scheduling of appointments
Check patients in and out
Use accurate and appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes
Register patients
Prepare charts
Post charges and payments
Collect co-payments
Maintain current databases of patient demographics and billing information
Verify insurance eligibility
Process patient referrals for tests and referrals to specialists
Requirements:
High School graduate
One year technical college
Three years of experience in physician office with medical billing experience may be accepted in lieu of formal training
Experience with practice management systems, EMRs; office automation skills, and insurance reimbursement
