Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Randolph Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and directing the preparation and recovery of surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to surgical patients in compliance with hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act of North Carolina, and recommended practices of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) and Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
  • Collaborate with physicians, especially surgeons and anesthesiologists, to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Assess patients across the age continuum and make sound nursing judgments to implement safe practice in both patient prep and recovery phases of surgical care.
  • Staffing assignments will be in both the Same Day Care and Post Anesthesia Care units, with call requirements in PACU.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license in North Carolina or multistate, with license pending.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Medical/Surgical, critical care, or PACU experience highly preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in medical/surgical, critical care, PACU, or ambulatory surgery.
