About the Role
InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of First-Year Recruitment to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for building a domestic recruiting network to ensure a strong application pool for the freshman class.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract and enroll a diverse and talented freshman class.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to identify and prioritize recruitment targets and develop effective outreach and engagement plans.
- Team Management
- Supervise and mentor a team of recruitment professionals to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their recruitment goals.
- Travel and Event Management
- Develop and manage a travel schedule to ensure effective recruitment outreach and engagement with high schools, community organizations, and other recruitment targets.
- Coordinate and manage recruitment events, including college fairs, information sessions, and campus tours.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect and analyze data on recruitment outcomes and trends to inform recruitment strategy and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track recruitment progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with other admissions team members, including the Director of Admissions and the Associate Director of Diversity Recruitment & Enrollment, to ensure a cohesive and effective recruitment strategy.
- Communicate effectively with high school counselors, students, and families to provide information and support throughout the recruitment process.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in higher education, multicultural education, or a related field.
- Experience
- Five years of progressive experience in undergraduate student recruitment or diversity/recruitment-related positions.
- Three years of supervisory experience.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with high school counselors, students, and families.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform recruitment strategy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other admissions team members.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurability.
