**Job Summary**

The Life Science Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, servicing, and supporting the imaging systems product line, including confocal and multiphoton microscopes.

This position requires a solid understanding of the life science industry, laser, optics, and microscopy experience is preferred.

The Field Service Engineer must have a strong understanding of customer/marketplace and drivers that influence customer behavior.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Install new systems
  • Perform warranty-related service at customer sites
  • Improve internal and external service reporting
  • Execute Preventive Maintenance program for existing customers
  • Promote service contracts for customers
  • Document field service activities
  • Improve customer response time

**Requirements**

  • Entry-level to 4 years hands-on experience aligning, maintaining, and servicing optical equipment, including lasers and microscopes, preferred
  • Prior field service experience, direct customer relationship experience
  • Education: BS in Engineering Technology, EE, Biomedical Science, Physics, or equivalent

**Specialized Knowledge and Skills**

  • Proficient in Windows-based PC machine use, especially MS Office and other communication tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, comply with high-quality standards
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong business acumen

**Physical Activities**

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force.
