Job Overview
Tasked with delivering educational instruction aligned with the college's mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to the established course syllabus.
Provide students with a detailed syllabus outlining course expectations, objectives, assessment methods, and means to achieve those objectives by the conclusion of the first week of classes.
Employ diverse teaching strategies to accommodate students with varying educational backgrounds and learning preferences. Facilitate opportunities for students to evaluate their own progress and provide ample chances for mastery of course objectives.
Submit syllabi and/or amendments to the Division Office by the end of the first week of class. Maintain office hours as per institutional guidelines and allow students to evaluate instructional effectiveness, ensuring evaluations are submitted to the designated office.
Engage in faculty orientation, professional development seminars, and activities to promote ongoing professional growth. Embrace the responsibility for personal and professional development while supporting the community college's mission to serve the community.
Execute all other duties relevant to this role as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1.
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work, or a Master's Degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
If the Master's degree is not in one of these four areas, the specific combination of qualifying eighteen (18) graduate hours can include a mix of Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work, or a Master's degree with twelve (12) graduate semester hours in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work and six (6) additional graduate credit hours in Career Development, Oral Communication, Computer Sciences, Library Science, Individual Assessment and Evaluation, or Kinesiology.
NOTE:
A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and must show completed coursework and degrees conferred.
Candidates must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.2. Experience in teaching within the discipline.
3. Proficiency in integrating technology into the educational environment.
4. Experience or capability to teach at the community college level.
Special Conditions:
1. The El Paso Community College is creating a pool of applicants for part-time faculty positions. Faculty are hired on a part-time basis each semester, based on the needs of the institution. Applications are accepted year-round from qualified candidates willing to teach part-time. Hiring decisions are made based on college requirements. Classes may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekend, and offered at various times and locations throughout the academic year. This pool will be utilized when openings arise. Applications will remain active for approximately one (1) year.
After this period, candidates must reapply if they wish to remain in the pool.
