Position Overview:


As a key member of the finance team, you will play a vital role in maintaining an accurate and comprehensive general ledger while assisting in the preparation of essential financial statements.

Your responsibilities will include recording journal entries, conducting variance analysis, and performing account reconciliations. You will also generate reports to support account details and provide assistance to field personnel regarding inquiries and issues. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager.

Performance Metrics:
1. Timeliness in task completion (adhering to daily, monthly, and ad hoc deadlines)
2. Quality of work (ensuring accuracy and providing substantial documentation to support entries and decisions)
3. Capacity management (ability to handle a diverse volume of locations, considering the complexity of operations)

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain general ledger accounts in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Prepare and enter journal entries
• Conduct account reconciliations
• Support field personnel with account analysis and inquiries
• Analyze trends and investigate any unusual or unexpected account variances
• Generate daily and monthly reports to facilitate the above responsibilities
• Recommend solutions to resolve issues and implement necessary corrections
• Assist in the monthly closing process
• Conduct additional accounting research as required
• Prepare and submit sales tax returns and manage payments
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Verify transactions from electronic sales systems
• Foster collaboration between operational teams and departments
• Undertake other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Fundamental understanding of concepts, practices, and procedures related to general ledger accounting
• Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent computer proficiency, particularly in Excel
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
• Strong work ethic and a collaborative team player mindset
