About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Engagement Platform (EP) team, which plays a crucial role in connecting content with CRM data. You will face challenges such as developing infrastructure capable of handling vast data volumes and leveraging AI to enhance content relationships and recommendations.

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Highspot, you will lead, inspire, and nurture a team of innovative and skilled engineers within a significant product domain. Your technical acumen and proven leadership abilities will guide strategic decisions regarding our technical framework, team dynamics, operational procedures, and engineering ethos. You will also serve as a vital decision-maker within your product domain.

What You'll Do

  • Guide a team of engineers to execute the strategic vision of your product area, motivating and inspiring them to achieve excellence.
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers.
  • Work closely with Highspot's Partner Marketing team to align business objectives with technical goals.
  • Uphold and enhance Highspot's culture, ensuring that Engineering remains an inclusive and welcoming environment, leading the industry in our commitment to diversity.
  • Apply your technical expertise in collaboration with the Architects team to oversee the evolution of Highspot's software, ensuring our architecture and technology stack are optimized for rapid growth and high availability across global data centers.
  • Deliver a product that prioritizes quality, security, and reliability, partnering with the DevOps team to create and maintain highly observable systems with actionable metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere where engineers at all levels can contribute meaningfully.
  • Mentor and support the professional and technical growth of your team members.
  • Ensure architects, stakeholders, and subject matter experts are engaged in key decisions.
  • Communicate decisions effectively within and beyond your team.
  • Enforce accountability through relevant performance metrics and timely feedback.

Your Background

  • 4+ years of experience in managing software engineering teams.
  • Hands-on engineering leader capable of diving into code when necessary.
  • Extensive experience in developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining both first-party and third-party integrations.
  • Proven track record in attracting and retaining top engineering talent from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator who prioritizes team success over individual goals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience in greenfield development and successfully launching new products, with a plus for breaking into new markets.
  • Prior experience in designing and building scalable software products.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle for SaaS applications.
  • Working knowledge of modern object-oriented and functional programming languages.
  • Experience in developing software using dynamic languages such as Ruby or Python.
