**Job Summary**

As a skilled equipment operator in the County Solid Waste Management Department, you will be responsible for performing responsible skilled equipment operation work in recycling operations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Operate heavy equipment to move, process and load recyclable materials
* May operate roll off truck or box truck to haul solid waste materials to landfill, recycling areas, or other sites
* Assist in various semi-skilled and unskilled tasks when not engaged in equipment operation

**Work Environment:**

Workers are subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including extreme heat, cold and noise. Work in solid waste facilities may require working in cramped or confined spaces.

**Requirements:**

Employees in this class must be able to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Must also assist in various semi-skilled and unskilled tasks when not engaged in equipment operation. Physical stamina is required to perform the duties of this job.
