  • Check food temperatures, texture, color, aroma, and taste prior to service.
  • Batch cook all food products that do not maintain temperature, texture, color, aroma, or taste if held for thirty minutes.
  • Utilize safe food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
  • Properly store and rotate food products to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Control costs by recording food production amounts and utilizing carryovers efficiently.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to improve culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Provide excellent guest relations by contributing to the hospital's philosophy, mission statement, and values in all interactions.
Requirements
  • Prior cooking experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance and/or 20 to 35 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
Working Conditions

Exposed to some extreme temperature changes, heat-cooking areas, cold-cooler and freezers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts and work positions.
