Job Summary

The West Cook YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and certified Swim Instructor and Lifeguard to deliver high-quality swim lessons and ensure the safety of all aquatic facility patrons.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with individuals of all ages and abilities.

The ideal candidate will have current certifications in YMCA Swim Lesson Certification, YMCA/American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.

Responsibilities include instructing swimming lessons, communicating with swimmers and parents, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons.

Working conditions include exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and humidity/warm temperature.

Compensation is $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on certification and years of experience.

Available shifts include Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons.
