We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Division at STV Incorporated. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Construction Inspection: Perform on-site inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and identify any potential issues or defects.
- Project Administration: Assist in the administration of highway, bridge, and tunnel construction projects, including monitoring contractor compliance and preparing daily inspection reports.
- Material Testing and Sampling: Perform on-site material testing and sampling to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections, and effectively communicate with project staff and clients.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience.
- Certifications: Possess or be able to acquire the following certifications within 6 months of beginning employment: ACI Concrete Field Tech, Grade I; VDOT Asphalt Field Level I and II; VDOT Soils and Aggregates Compaction; VDOT Pavement Marking; VA DEQ Erosion & Sediment Control Inspection; VA DEQ Stormwater Management Inspector; Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control; OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety; Confined Space Entry.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse rough terrain, walk or stand for extended periods of time, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
