Job Summary:
As a Per Diem Registered Nurse in our Addiction Medicine Department, you will play a vital role in providing nursing assessment, monitoring, and support to outpatients and inpatients. Your expertise will be essential in conducting thorough assessments, identifying detoxification needs, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients, screening for detoxification needs and other health-related concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, recommending the next level of care and coordinating with staff to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Administer medications, process laboratory requests, and evaluate the efficacy of treatments and medications.
  • Provide consultation services to physicians and nurses within other Kaiser medical departments, offering targeted evaluations of patient needs for Addiction Medicine continuing care services.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and present patient-oriented lectures and materials, promoting health-related awareness and program understanding.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience providing nursing care in an addiction treatment setting.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
  • Knowledge of practice standards within the field of addiction treatment, community organizations, and referral resources.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Additional Notes:
  • This is a Per Diem registered nurse position in addiction medicine in Orange County.
  • Per diem work requirements.
  • This position will cover two locations.
