The Senior Civil/Geotechnical Project Supervisor will be tasked with managing all on-site construction operations, which includes overseeing laborers, equipment operators, schedules, suppliers, and subcontractors. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the company's standards for quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities, provide effective guidance to field personnel, and ensure the seamless operation of daily project activities. We seek a motivated individual eager to learn and develop while fostering a dedicated team. The primary focus of Geotechnical work will be in challenging terrains, but opportunities may arise in various other regions. This company undertakes projects in remote and rugged environments, making problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic planning essential skills. The position entails significant travel, with some flexibility for personal time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guarantees that safety protocols align with or surpass the standards outlined in the corporate safety manual, safety plan, client specifications, or other regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinates personnel, materials, equipment, and all operational activities to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Ensures that projects are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and relevant policies, maintaining high-quality standards in labor and materials.
  • Acts as a leader and mentor for the team, promoting the company's safety culture, objectives, and goals.
  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring qualified personnel to sustain high-performing teams.
  • Reviews team timesheets, manages accurate reporting of labor and equipment usage, and operates within project budgets and timelines.
  • Completes and supervises all daily documentation and necessary paperwork, ensuring timely submission.
  • Conducts pre- and post-shift meetings to effectively communicate daily objectives and project goals to the team.
  • Ensures that equipment operations comply with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Addresses discrepancies in plans and specifications with the project team.
  • Performs any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in heavy civil and/or geotechnical construction.
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Supervisor in heavy civil and/or geotechnical construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of geotechnical construction techniques, including soil nails, ground anchors, micro piles, compaction, and permeation grouting, as well as other ground improvement methods.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary construction practices and equipment operation.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and survey data.
  • Capable of adapting communication styles to suit different audiences.
  • Proficient in fostering teamwork to achieve consensus among team members and stakeholders.
  • Adept at identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to various job sites across the United States.
