About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Glendale Dining Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our food service program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of food service professionals in the kitchen and front-of-house operations.
  • Oversee catering, ordering, inventory, budgeting, and menu planning.
  • Ensure the smooth and effective operation of the food service program in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Manage food cost and budget, and maintain high standards of quality and service.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team performance and skills.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive food service/restaurant experience, with a passion for cooking and a talent for leadership.
  • Experience managing front-of-house employees and a senior dining environment.
  • Degree from an accredited culinary program preferred, but not necessary.
  • Successful management experience, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and motivate team members positively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Business acumen, with the ability to manage food cost and budget.
  • Reliable transportation, and the ability to obtain current certifications and licenses required by local, state, and/or Federal guidelines for food production management.
