Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Princeton Community Hospital Association, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and analyzing clinical laboratory tests within the scope of licensure in all laboratory disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and analyze samples in a timely and orderly fashion, meeting usual and customary levels of productivity.
- Set up, run, maintain, and adjust laboratory instruments according to policies and procedures.
- Take appropriate action for quality control in all technical areas and follow infection control procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients as needed.
- Complete forms and reports findings to nurses and/or physicians.
- Interact with other healthcare workers to solve problems and interpret patient lab results.
- Maintain all patient and specimen records accurately, neatly, and legibly.
- Follow hospital, state, and federal guidelines for ensuring a safe environment for workers, patients, and public.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Medical Laboratory or Laboratory Sciences (MLT).
- Current WV Licensure, or applicable state, as a Medical Technician within 90 days of hire.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is preferred.
Working Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to multitask and handle stressful situations. The successful candidate will be able to work well as a team with co-workers, supervisors, and all other staff/customers, including patients.
