Plant Quality Assurance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team at Wm Bolthouse Farms Inc. This is a critical role that will oversee the day-to-day operations in quality assurance to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the quality of daily production through review and analysis of documentation and data, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory quality guidelines.
- Support and/or lead the implementation and maintenance of Quality Assurance programs, including food safety plans, food defense plans, quality management systems, and food safety and quality training programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to review Work Instructions and ensure they adhere to current GMPs, regulatory requirements, and all internal and external food safety audits and certifications.
- May serve as the plant quality assurance manager backup for food safety and quality decision-making.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure effective and timely communication of company, plant, and department information, standards, objectives, and goals.
- Create a cohesive, positive, and clean work environment by providing guidance, performance feedback, and coaching to leads and partners.
- Educate and consult with plant leadership, peers, and manufacturing partners on food safety programs and related issues.
- Serve as a technical expert and coach for team members.
- Support partners in presenting ideas for improving the efficiency and productivity of operations.
- Operate within established budgets, forecasts, cost objectives, and service levels to control expenses and support cost, quality, and service improvement initiatives.
- Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventive Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures.
- Demonstrate and understand safety as our core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforce and coach others to do the same.
- Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g., PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).
- Act as a safety change agent (e.g., CPR/First Aid certification; active engagement in safety committee, drive safety initiatives for department).
- Support food safety, legality, and quality programs.
- Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventive Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures. Monitor and document quality measures using analytical tools.
- Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Evolution Fresh Mission & Values.
- High School/GED or one plus years' experience in a related field or combination of both education and experience.
- Quality assurance experience (5 years).
- Auditing and monitoring of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods specification compliance (2 years).
- Food manufacturing and/or laboratory management experience (2 years).
- Hazard Assessment and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Food Safety Plan/PCQI experience (2 years).
- Review and summarize quality assurance records and metrics (2 years).
- Auditing raw materials and finished goods (2 years).
- Laboratory (2 years).
- BS degree in a science-related field with a preference for Food Science, Biology, or Microbiology.
- Regulatory Compliance Certifications – PCQI (Preventive Control Qualified Individual).
- Food safety certification classes including safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Experience in specific fields or utilizing designated skills: working knowledge and strong understanding of QA methodology, processes, and GFSI standards; manufacturer/supplier quality system and product auditing experience; leadership or supervision of QA department in food processing; familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (21 CFR 117) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with BRC or SQF certification schemes.
