Plans Examiner

The City of Pasco, WA is seeking a skilled Plans Examiner to join our team. As a Plans Examiner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity of buildings and other structures in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex commercial and residential plan reviews for structural and non-structural integrity
- Monitor construction plan timeframes and conformance through periodic field inspections
- Interpret and apply applicable codes and regulations in the evaluation of proposals for new materials and reviews plan applications
- Collaborate with building staff and permitting staff to review plans for residents and developers
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Three (3) years experience in plans examining, permitting, or building inspection, including one (1) year experience in building construction
- ICC or similar certification as a plans examiner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture or closely related field
- Previous experience in local government
