Role Overview:


The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant is a qualified professional who provides direct care to residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer physical therapy interventions to residents based on individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Support the Physical Therapist during assessments, evaluations, and advanced treatment procedures.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate to the therapist any changes in residents' conditions, reactions, and responses relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Keep accurate daily records of treatments and prepare progress notes for residents as instructed by the therapist.
  • Assist in the initial screening process for new admissions.
  • Collaborate with the therapist in discussions with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the physical therapy department and its equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Possession of a current license or eligibility for licensure as per state regulations.
  • Preferred experience in a similar environment catering to the same demographic of residents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including neat handwriting and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to comprehend and execute the directives of the Physical Therapist and adhere to the facility's policies and procedures.
