Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our corporate office team at Stellar Senior Living. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coding invoices and processing payments to ensure expenses are posted accurately and on time
  • Communicating with vendors to set up payments and onboard them within our accounts payable system
  • Working with the accounts payable team to ensure emails and requests are followed up on promptly
  • Creating and managing reports to ensure compliance with company standards regarding accounts payable processes
  • Managing our procurement platform, including updating and adding users and addressing any questions or issues that may arise
  • Reconciling vendor statements and assisting with resolving any outstanding balances
  • Assisting with internal and external audit requests
  • Maintaining W9 forms for all vendors
  • Assisting with the issuance of 1099s
  • Providing accounts payable training, support, and feedback to our community-level teams
  • Working on special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience with accounts payable processing and basic accounting skills preferred but not required
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience using Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and complete responsibilities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude towards learning new things and taking initiative on projects and tasks
