The GIS Specialist will be a dedicated AECOM employee, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President & GIS Senior Manager in the Technology Services Group. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our United States Marine Corps (USMC) client within the Environment Business line.

This role is integral to a team of GIS Specialists engaged in the MCB Camp Pendleton IGI&S Program, focusing on GIS data management, geospatial analysis, modeling, cartographic product creation, and providing technical assistance.

A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with the project team to develop, implement, and enhance GIS solutions across the installation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and assess technical requirements to align with project objectives and execute quality assurance protocols.
  • Adhere to project timelines to effectively complete assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with the AECOM team lead to ensure excellence in all deliverables.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current and emerging GIS software and technologies.
  • Develop and manage GIS data within an ArcGIS Enterprise framework.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail alongside proactive and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Engage in effective communication and collaboration with the project team lead to clarify and document system and solution requirements.
  • Organize, document, and relay status updates to program and project leads.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking, decision-making, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
