Position Overview:
The Youth Support Coordinator will manage all aspects of the Out-of-School Youth Program. This role involves providing case management and addressing barriers faced by participants. The Coordinator will assist individuals in securing work experience opportunities through collaboration with local businesses. Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging workshops and educational experiences for participants.

The Youth Support Coordinator will facilitate interviews between participants and potential employers, acting as a bridge between local businesses and Youth Program participants.

Flexibility is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit participants for youth initiatives
  • Assess eligibility for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
  • Offer personalized and comprehensive support tailored to each participant's unique needs
  • Collaborate with community partners and employers to secure training, internships, and job placement opportunities for youth
  • Identify potential mentors to support the youth population in achieving their goals
  • Provide referrals to community resources as necessary
  • Conduct innovative and engaging workshops as required
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers, particularly with hiring personnel
  • Gather job openings from employers and create detailed job descriptions for the job bank
  • Input and update participant information in relevant databases and files
  • Prepare files for exit as participants conclude their involvement in the program
  • Assist with employment verification processes
  • Oversee payroll submissions for youth in work experience programs
  • Perform case management duties while ensuring compliance with funder and WIOA guidelines
  • Represent the Youth Program at school events and external meetings
  • Maintain participant files in accordance with state and local regulations
  • Availability to work evening hours Monday through Thursday until 7 PM as needed
  • Lead efforts to identify and address barriers to participant success
  • Identify, facilitate access to, and document the use of grant-funded supportive services
  • Identify, facilitate access to, and document the use of external resources
  • Manage work-readiness activities for participants, including workshops like SkillUpTM PA
  • Maintain case notes in accordance with local policies in the record-keeping system
  • Provide follow-up services to participants for 12 months post-exit
  • Other responsibilities as they arise
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, education, human resources, or a related field is required
  • Experience working with at-risk youth populations is essential
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary
  • Experience in providing career development support is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
  • Trauma-Informed Care Training is beneficial
  • Significant experience in a collaborative environment is essential
  • A valid driver's license is required
