Job Title: Marketing Intern – Holiday Lighting

Location: Sioux Falls, SD (Sioux Empire)

Duration: Seasonal/Part-time (Fall Semester)

We are seeking a proactive and outgoing Marketing Intern to support our holiday marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for distributing marketing materials, engaging with business owners, and managing our social media presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Distribute Marketing Materials: Place yard signs and door hangers in strategic locations within designated neighborhoods to increase visibility and attract potential clients.
  • Engage with Business Owners: Visit local businesses to discuss potential co-marketing opportunities, such as co-branded promotions and referral programs.
  • Market Research: Identify and approach businesses that align with our target demographic for potential partnerships.
  • Event Support: Assist in planning and executing community events or promotional activities to boost brand awareness.
  • Social Media Management: Create and schedule engaging social media content that highlights our services, showcases past installations, and promotes special offers.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage with residents and business owners to provide information about our holiday lighting services and collect feedback.
  • Reporting: Keep track of distribution areas, business interactions, and social media performance. Provide regular updates to the marketing team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, business, communications, or related program (or recent graduate).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with face-to-face interactions and cold calling.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) and basic content creation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Creative mindset with a knack for identifying marketing and social media opportunities.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to various locations within the area.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
