POSITION SUMMARY

The Housing Support Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Program's housing assistance services, which include emergency and transitional housing solutions. This role involves managing lease agreements, assisting clients with necessary documentation, and overseeing the housing budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify housing opportunities within designated areas, encompassing short-term, transitional, and permanent housing options.
  • Coordinate and manage various oversight agreements, including master leasing and scattered site leasing, while assisting in the supervision of Assertive Community Treatment supported housing initiatives.
  • Support clients in gathering essential documents for housing placement, including the completion of necessary assessments.
  • Provide field services and be available for on-call and after-hours support as required.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Assertive Community Treatment team, engaging in daily organizational meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with direct service staff to identify suitable housing options based on clients' individual needs and preferences.
  • Represent the Assertive Community Treatment program positively at community provider meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison with professionals in the housing sector and with providers of homeless services.
  • Ensure timely processing of housing payments by interacting with vendors.
  • Prepare monthly reports for funding sources and keep the team informed about housing alternatives and availability changes.
  • Manage housing invoice vouchers to ensure timely payment for clients' housing needs, collaborating with administrative staff.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including compliance with HIPAA standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree with two to three years of experience in providing housing-related social services, including housing assessments and skills development.
  • Preferred: State of California licensed or license eligible (ACSW, PCCI, AMFT).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese is preferred.
  • Experience working with justice-involved populations in mental health or substance use disorder settings is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
