Job Summary

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by handling register transactions, answering customer inquiries, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service:
    • Project a positive image of Westlake Ace Hardware by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently, ensuring a smooth and seamless shopping experience.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Register Operations:
    • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card payments, and returns.
    • Balance the register drawer at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Participate in store meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
  • Store Appearance and Maintenance:
    • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the checkout areas and entrance doors.
    • Assist with stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise to ensure a visually appealing store display.
    • Ensure that all necessary supplies, such as forms and bags, are stocked and readily available.

    Requirements:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience: Previous retail sales experience preferred, but not required.
    • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic math skills.
    Compensation:

$10.00-$14.00/hour
