Schedule a range of routine to moderately complex tasks for medical imaging, prioritizing multiple tasks during high volumes.

These responsibilities include scheduling outpatient imaging services for CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Radiology, as well as scheduling all imaging services generated through the emergency department.

This role requires an understanding of optimal patient flow, imaging procedures, and knowledge of laboratory testing and patient history requirements for imaging procedures.

Schedulers are responsible for obtaining physician orders and insurance verification and/or pre-authorization prior to the completion of imaging procedures.

They register patients, collect payments, prepare medical records, assist with billing, fulfill medical records requests, and print electronic imaging files.

Schedulers answer multiple phone lines, triage multiple situations with patients and physicians, and serve as the liaison for the imaging department.

All duties are accomplished with excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

  • Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school with emphasis in healthcare preferred, or six months to one year related experience and/or training in health care related field
  • Preferred Qualifications: Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course; 1 year experience in a healthcare setting (i.e. physician's office, scheduler, etc.); Experienced in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations; Medical imaging experience
