Position Overview:

Nucor Corporation is actively seeking skilled candidates for the role of Environmental Engineer. This position is crucial for overseeing the division's adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
  • Implement and manage environmental initiatives, including necessary permits and reporting.
  • Provide education and training to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and foster continuous improvement.
  • Engage in community outreach programs.

Essential Duties:

Monitor and assess the effectiveness of environmental systems, identifying areas for enhancement. Work closely with various departments to integrate environmental best practices into operational procedures and engineering protocols.

Review environmental metrics and communicate any compliance issues to leadership. Proactively identify potential ecological challenges and propose solutions.

Ensure timely submission of regulatory applications to maintain valid operational permits.

Facilitate the completion of necessary environmental compliance activities, including sampling and monitoring.

Compile and submit regulatory reports promptly.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in industrial manufacturing, consulting, or regulatory roles related to environmental engineering or compliance.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with air dispersion modeling and operating permit applications.
  • Understanding of air pollution control technologies and their maintenance.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance programs and emission reporting.
  • Knowledge of water and waste management regulations.
