Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, this role provides nursing care to psychiatric patients by implementing and evaluating the established plan of care, carrying out assigned tasks, and collaborating with the nursing and multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and evaluate the established plan of care for psychiatric patients
  • Carry out assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Provide therapeutic communication and support to patients
  • Administer medications and manage patient care
  • Manage assaultive behavior and evacuate patients as needed
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting or equivalent
  • California Psychiatric Technician Licensure required
  • BLS certification required
  • Knowledge of psychological functioning and deviations from normal
  • Knowledge of growth and development throughout the life span
  • Knowledge of techniques of therapeutic communication
  • Knowledge of drug administration and management of assaultive behavior
  • Knowledge of evacuation, fire, and disaster procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
