Post-Frame Construction Laborer

With a legacy spanning over a century, we operate more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping facilities that support over 100 construction centers across the nation. Each year, numerous new structures proudly display the iconic Morton M.

Compensation ranges from $ to $ per hour, commensurate with experience. Payments are made weekly.

Bonus Opportunities: Earn an additional $2000 in your first year. New team members are eligible for a $500 bonus every quarter during their initial year of employment with Morton Buildings, subject to applicable withholding taxes.

Under the supervision of your crew leader, you will:

  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to Morton Buildings' safety and construction protocols, methods, and standards
  • Interpret and construct according to architectural plans
  • Employ various tools and equipment to safely and effectively build structures
  • Carry out tasks such as: excavating and setting footings, framing walls and roofs, installing windows and doors, applying various siding and roofing materials including hi-rib steel, shingles, wood, and mortarless masonry units, and finishing with metal and wood trims
  • Collaborate with fellow crew members in a safe, organized, productive, and enjoyable work environment, treating everyone with respect and dignity

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in building construction (post-frame), carpentry, or framing is preferred (either through employment or education)
  • Willingness to engage in and complete a training program
  • A valid driver's license is preferred; a Class A CDL is highly sought after.
  • Availability to work 9-10 hours during peak construction periods.
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Deliver quality work efficiently
  • Agree to adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Willingness to maintain and use construction tools safely and correctly
  • Capability to operate specialized safety equipment effectively
  • Standard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and at various heights (up to 40 feet)
  • Possess strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • This role requires 50% travel (based on a yearly schedule), which may include overnight stays for up to two weeks at a time.

Our construction crew roles are eligible for three years of progressive pay increases based on experience, required training, and attendance.
