Position Overview:
The Sales Development Representative plays a crucial role in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within the small business sector of the Employee Health & Benefits division. This position focuses on generating sales leads and implementing strategic initiatives to foster new client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain targeted sales lead lists to facilitate new business meetings for assigned Producers.
- Implement prospecting campaigns across various market segments to generate qualified sales leads.
- Conduct thorough research on potential leads to prepare for strategic discussions, collaborating closely with Producers for further engagement.
- Assess and prioritize leads while staying informed about evolving market conditions.
- Update and manage SalesForce and other relevant systems to track appointments, contacts, and pertinent information.
- Utilize diverse communication methods for consistent outreach to the designated lead list.
- Attend regular sales meetings to report on performance metrics and progress towards objectives.
- Analyze competitor offerings and provide insights to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
- Compile and present reports to Leadership detailing call activities, pipeline status, and lead generation outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A college degree is required.
- An active Life and Health License in California is preferred.
- Experience in business development or telemarketing is advantageous.
- Proven ability to resolve issues and communicate results clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- A confident demeanor with the ability to thrive in a competitive landscape.
- Resilience and the capacity to handle rejection effectively.
- High self-motivation and a strong drive to succeed.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with standard office equipment is essential.
- Demonstrated capability to develop, plan, and execute both short- and long-term goals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
Work Environment:
- The role may require extended hours due to participation in networking and industry events.
- The position is primarily office-based.
The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, performance-based incentives may be available.
