About the Role

The State of Vermont's Business Office is seeking a skilled financial professional to join our team. This position will be responsible for assisting with financial tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and employee payroll. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with financial tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and employee payroll
  • Provide financial support to the Business Office team
  • Develop and maintain financial records and reports
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
  • Or completion of a vocational/technical training program in business, office administration, or a related area and one year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
  • Or an associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Or two years of full-time college coursework in accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Or one year of experience as a Financial Specialist I with the State of Vermont
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with financial software and systems, such as the VISION system, is preferred.
