Role Summary

As a Retail Customer Advisor (RCA) for Animal Health International, your primary responsibility will be to assist retail clients and promote animal vaccines, prescription treatments, and health supplies from our retail space. You will maintain ongoing communication with external sales representatives, operational teams, and pharmacy staff, while accurately entering customer orders into our system. Familiarity with animal health products is essential, as this role will involve upselling when appropriate.

Customer Engagement:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and sales assistance via phone or in-person interactions; address customer inquiries, provide solutions, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Complete in-person sales transactions from initiation to conclusion; ensure accurate product selection and processing.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with both new and returning customers.
  • Process customer transactions accurately in the order entry system, including invoicing, orders, quotes, and returns.
  • Understand and comply with Accounts Receivable policies and procedures.
  • Keep precise records of customer interactions, facility documentation, and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to all applicable guidelines.

Retail Management:

  • Ensure a welcoming retail environment by maintaining cleanliness and adequate stock levels. Rotate inventory as necessary and showcase seasonal and promotional items effectively.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory counts and organize materials in the retail space, collaborating with local management to address any discrepancies.
  • Stay informed about company products and programs.
  • Manage cash handling and maintain the cash drawer; deposit funds as required.
  • Foster strong working relationships within the location; communicate actively with sales, operations, and pharmacy teams as needed.
  • Generate reports as requested.
  • May undertake additional Retail Customer Advisor responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail, merchandising, customer service, or general office roles.
  • Knowledge of animal health products.
  • Exceptional customer service and organizational abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in general computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual capabilities (where applicable).
  • Associate degree in Business or Animal Health, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in animal health or agriculture, such as working with livestock.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Warehouse experience is advantageous.
Working Conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
  • Predominantly sitting or standing throughout the workday.
  • Frequent reading and review of customer information.
  • Operation of a computer and other office equipment.
  • Regular communication with customers and staff, requiring effective information exchange.
