Position Summary: The Yard Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the movement of trucks within the yard of the production facility. This position is essential for ensuring that all equipment and cargo are handled efficiently and safely, while also providing exceptional customer service and adhering to industry safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitating the docking and repositioning of trailers.
- Transporting semi-trailers throughout the cargo yard.
- Conducting inspections of both tractors and containers to guarantee smooth operation of all equipment and products.
- Utilizing additional equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Assisting with the manual loading and unloading of products or equipment as required.
- Completing necessary documentation related to work, including bills of lading.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid CDL Class A license with Hazardous Materials (H) and Tank Vehicle (N) endorsements.
- Maintaining a clean and safe driving record in accordance with all DOT licensing regulations.
- Experience operating a switcher truck is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Mechanically inclined skills are advantageous but not essential.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, along with bending, climbing, reaching, and rotating as necessary.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented self-starter capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
